Hello, after opening a photo that I wanted to edit with Paint, I accidentally clicked on “ALWAYS OPEN WITH PAINT” and now all my photos systematically open with Paint, which I do not want. How can I fix this? I am a novice and need your help. Best regards.

Hello,
You have set Paint as the default program to open photos: right-click on a photo, then select "Open with...". Next, choose the program you want to use to open your photos and check "Always use this app to open files...," then open your photo by clicking OK. After that, the application you selected will always open the selected file type.
Let me know if you solved your problem.
Best wishes,

Hello, thank you for your response.
The issue is that all my photos open automatically with Paint; what I want to do is to prevent my photos from opening with Paint, and to be able to choose as you described:
Then, select the software you want to open your photos with and check "Always use this application to open files..."
Please provide me with the steps to uncheck "always use this application to open files."
Best regards.

there's no need to 'uncheck', just choose another application and set what has been indicated to you ...

Hello,
Thank you once again for this valuable advice, but I can't access this page "HOW DO YOU WANT TO OPEN THIS FILE" because the photos always open with Paint; it's the disabling of the automatic opening with Paint that I want to do.
Best regards.

you place your cursor on the image file
you right click on it
this window then opens:

- open with
- choose another application
- you select an application by checking the box "always use ...." ( cf previous capture )
- you click ' OK '
- the image opens with the chosen application
- all your images with the same extension will then do the same thing
IF you did this for a *.jpg file, you will then need to follow the same procedure for other image files, IF you have any, such as *.bmp, *.tiff, etc ...

Hello,

Thank you for your patience in explaining what certainly seems simple to you but not to me.
Apparently, thanks to you, the issue is resolved, and I am infinitely grateful.

Thank you, but that has not been taken into account... You need to click on the green button and automatically the title of your request will be changed (in green as well)...
