My photos transferred as Jpeg only open with Adobe Reader!

For some time now, the photos I saved from my Canon device to my PC only open with Adobe Reader, which keeps crashing and notifying me of a "damaged file." I don't understand why the photos won't open in JPEG format.
My PC runs on Windows 7.

    Right-click on one of the icons in your .jpeg collection.

    Select "Open with" (left-click)

    Go to the last line "Choose default program"

    Then choose the program. If you want a different program than the ones proposed, click on "Browse" and select it.

    Once selected, check the box next to the phrase: "Always use the selected program to open this type of file."

    Then finish with "OK."

    This process is valid for all other types of files and not just for .jpeg; the key is to choose the right program for each type of file.

    Hello,
    1 - right-click on the jpeg file - open with - image viewer (or other)

    2 - right-click - properties - opens with - change (choose - image viewer...)
