Hello,
I have Word 2007 and I'm trying to select multiple images to group them, but when I hold down the CTRL key to select the second image, a small + appears above my pointer with a small rectangle underneath, and as a result, I can't select other images, which I was able to do before.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 86.0.4240.75

Hello,
To select multiple images with Ctrl, these images must have a wrapping.

From now on, if a user tells me "it doesn't work" without any further info..., I'm giving up!

Thank you very much, but once the layout is applied, the images are difficult to position on the page, especially when there are multiple images.
I answered your question! Whatever the version, the stories need to have a layout in order to be selected this way, because they have to be part of the image layer, not the text.
Now, yes, it is difficult to manage these types of images in a text. And I say it, and I often repeat it, if we don't have to give a layout to the images, we should refrain from doing so.
The best solution for managing a group of images is to use drawing areas, and there we can do what we want. I explain here:

I'm glad that it suits you because I often recommend using drawing areas, which are really practical to use in Word, but I don't know why there are few people who want to use them.
Moreover, in version 2007, you can only make multiple selections of image + drawing within drawing areas.
I'm marking the topic as resolved, and don't hesitate to come back if you have other problems ;)
