Hi everyone,

I hope you are doing well. So, following quite a few bugs after the reset of Windows 7 Home,
I’m playing an online game and since the reset, I have an error where it no longer recognizes HTTPS; it says the connection is not secure and certain software like Discord cannot connect anymore.

The error message is NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID.

I do have internet, though!!!

Is it a DNS issue? Or something else? Can you shed some light on this?

Thanks to you!

I have created a zip file with the UserTrust root certificates.
Download it and unzip it, which will give you a UserTrust.pfx file.

Then:

Press Windows + R
type certmgr.msc
Expand Trusted Root Certification Authorities
Right-click on Certificates and select Import.
Look for the DigiCert.pfx file that you unzipped

The password is malekal

Make sure they are in the list.
Try opening the websites again.

As always, your solutions work, thank you.

Do you think that the fact that Discord refuses to launch and Microsoft Essentials won't update has an impact, in the end, that the issue is the same?

You're welcome :)

I don't know, but you must also have Windows Update not working for the same kind of reasons:

Error: (04/06/2020 09:08:42 PM) (Source: Microsoft-Windows-CAPI2) (EventID: 4107) (User: )
Description: Failed to extract the third-party root list from the automatic update CAB file at: <http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab> with the error: A certificate chain was processed but ended with a root certificate that is not trusted by the trust provider.

Maybe that interferes with Microsoft Security Essentials.

I have put all the certificate authorities here: https://pjjoint.malekal.com/files.php?id=20200407_h8k8s15d8r12
Same procedure as before.
