Hello,
It has been almost a year since I got my Nvidia graphics card. I haven't played much, just Assassin's Origins and Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider... but now that the lockdown is here, I've been putting it to work every day on Call of Duty Warzone. However, I've noticed that it tends to heat up, I'm finding temperatures between 75-80°C. Sure, the game's specs are almost maxed out, and I'm getting around 100 fps, which is great, as I'm playing at 3440x1440.
I built my PC myself, I have a large tower, 5 fans (including 2 in the front as intake, 1 at the back, and 2 at the top – those from the NZXT CPU watercooling radiator) as exhaust.
I'm not an expert, just knowledgeable enough to have completed my build neatly.
However, 80°C is starting to feel quite hot, to the point that I'm sweating in my room and have to open the window to cool it down. I'm worried that in summer, I simply won't be able to play unless I turn the air conditioning all the way up, and I really don't want to do that.
Is 80°C normal for a 2080 RTX in your opinion?
I've tried reducing the GPU voltage; it was at 1.037V, and I lowered it to 0.9750V, which is stable, but it hasn't changed anything.
The only thing I haven't tried is cranking up the fans on the GPU to max (considering they're already at 80% at 80°C), but before doing that, I wanted to know if 80°C is normal or if there's something else I could do besides reducing the in-game settings?
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
Config:
GPU MSI 2080 RTX Gaming X Trio
CPU Intel Core i7-8700K
16GB RAM (2x8GB) G.Skill Trident Z RGB
Motherboard ASUS Z370
Case Be Quiet Dark Base Pro 900

Hi,
Considering your case's ventilation, it's true that 80°C is rather high.
I assume you haven't set a FPS limit, which means your card is really working at full capacity all the time.
There's no danger at this temperature, but if it were to rise higher, like 90-100°C, then we would need to start asking questions.

Thank you for your response! I play at 120 fps, and since my screen can't go beyond that, I've limited it to 120. =) I regularly monitor the temperature in-game; if I see it exceed 90 one day, I will be concerned. In the meantime, I've added a sixth fan, which has helped a lot!
