Magibook not detected: I can't download Explora Park.
Gwen -
I can't download Explora Park, it just keeps loading but the page doesn't open when I click on Magicbook, the download page appears, it keeps loading, and nothing happens.
Could someone help me? It's for my daughter, it's a Christmas gift and I would like for it to work.
Thank you

Have you solved this problem?
I haven’t had any luck either;
similar issue; well, almost;
the Explora Park of the MagiBook that I installed doesn’t detect the MagiBook
"no VTech product has been found; please connect your VTech product to your computer and turn it on, then try again"
desperate!
between that and the MagiBook that talks to you asking you to connect to https://www.vtech-jouets.com/ to download Explora Park, it's beyond irritating.
It's been 3 hours that
I've been installing Explora Park, uninstalling it,
disconnecting the MagiBook, reconnecting it
checking the requirements on my 2 PCs running Windows, namely
Processor: Pentium® 4
RAM: 256MB
Screen resolution 1024 x 768
300MB of free hard disk space minimum
USB port required
Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows® 8 or Windows® 10
Updated Adobe® Flash® Player
but no; for neither does Explora Park detect the product...
It seems that this problem has persisted for years judging by the comments on forums; and VTech does nothing, they continue to sell their products that are useless to us, except frustrating our children and annoying us.
No more VTech products; I'm going to boycott; We are not cash cows.
And we don't have 10 hours to spend configuring or installing a game for kids.
Do they have no consideration for their customers? don’t they resolve recurring issues?
No problem, let’s not have any consideration for them...
Hello everyone! Like you, I pulled my hair out before finding the miracle solution! Indeed, it is impossible to make the magibook communicate with the computer as long as the antivirus is running. It takes the magibook for an intrusion and blocks communications.
So you just need to disconnect the real-time protection as stated in a corner of the Vtech website, and it works perfectly... Vtech link for proof: https://www.vtech-jouets.com/assistance?question=jouet-est-detecte-windows-10
There you go, happy gaming from now on!!!
I also bought the Magibook for my son for Christmas, and I assure you that I gave myself headaches for free. I first tested it with a MAC, impossible. I deleted the application, downloaded it again. I tried to find videos but nothing worked. Then, I tested it from another computer from 10:30 am, and it was only at 6:00 pm that I finally managed to download the book and update the software.
You need to disable the antivirus (Defender) and turn off the firewall so that the computer can recognize the Magibook and first proceed with the software update and download the audiobook without any issues.
A big thank you to Foxgraph, and it was by reading the post from cath3009 (disable the firewall) that I found the final solution.
Good luck to all the parents who are going to tear their hair out.
go to the terminal:
type: sudo spctl --master-disable
enter your password
then go check in your system preferences (security and privacy) in the "general" tab if the line "allow applications downloaded from anywhere" is present. Click on it.
You may also have a little further down a message to unlock the "leapfrog" drive. Unlock it.
Open your explora park
download your magic book
Thank you so much!!!
A whole day struggling!
"Go check in your system preferences (security and privacy) in the "general" tab if the line "allow apps downloaded from anywhere" is present. You click on it.
You may also have a message a little lower to unlock the "leapfrog" drive. Do the unlocking."
I did this on my Mac and it worked...
Download it from this LINK

So for those who encountered the detection issue, I solved the problem by changing the cable (after the 6th one). Yay! After 4 days of exchanges with Vtech..... Which led to nothing. I think I've finished with that.
Then comes the update to do. And like Christophe, there's no internet connection even though my connection is fine. Tried on 3 PCs and the same observation. I'm waiting for a response from Vtech...... Again....
I keep getting one of these two messages
- unable to detect (neither the magibook nor the magic pen)
- the disk is not readable on this computer
and therefore it's impossible to download the purchased books. I tried with 3 other cables and nothing.
I just reinstalled the software for the third time and still nothing
what should I do ??
Don’t forget to open the magibook, I encountered the same issues as you, and the software eventually detected the magibook when I opened it.
Hope this helps you.
Have a great day.
On the page

I referred to procedure #2.
In Security and Privacy, I saw something like "a content from Leap Frog Enterprises was blocked". I made the connection with the "grep Lf" from procedure #1 (to check for the existence of the LfConnectDriver.kext file - Lf for Leap Frog) and allowed access. It required a reboot, but afterward, the globe was detected.
I admit that the installation isn’t straightforward and you have to find the right sources...
(Oh, yes, I also changed the USB cable, maybe that was part of it too)
I have the same problem as you on an old Mac, but the link you provided regarding the Leap Frog issue no longer works.
What steps should I take to allow access? My Mac does not recognize the magibook in Disk Utility, and I have been trying to download the booklets we purchased for over 2 years, without success…
Thank you!
You need to disable all firewalls.
Disable real-time protection.
Good luck.
You need to manually look for the update in Explora Park. It's not automatic. It took me 2 days of struggling anyway.
Have a good day everyone.
In my case, I suspect this trick will work for some and not for others, unfortunately.
Also, I am on Win7.
Good luck.

I don't know if this can help you, download it to my PC once that's done connect the iBook mag and launch the application for my part it bugs at the moment of adding the audiobook it asks me for the update and every time it never works, error yet no connection issues any idea thanks
As you can see, my connection is fine.
Impatient to see if anyone has the solution to install this darn update.
Thank you
Uninstalling and reinstalling about 20 times
Then I had to update it, I had to do that twice
And then downloading the content
I've never struggled so much with computers
Fortunately, it's supposed to be easy
Well done, Vtech
I'm really glad I bought it second-hand at my price!!
Hello everyone, my daughter received the Magibook for Christmas and I can't install the Explora Park. I keep getting the same message and I don't know anything about it. Has anyone else had this problem? It says a connection error has occurred, please ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet, which it is, and that no software such as a firewall, antivirus, or anti-spyware is likely to be blocking the connection. Thank you in advance.
Same here, I just can't download my son's 2 new books since Explora Park can't find my Magibook ????????
Thanks to Guylene (post below), problem solved: my new cable is defective....
I just tried connecting with another similar cable, and right away Magibook was recognized by Explora park.
I still had to uninstall and reinstall Explora park (since the automatic update wasn't working).
