Why won't my PC detect my SD card? Solved

Question

Hello,I have a problem with my card reader, the PC does not detect any input when I insert my SD card, I only see the light on my tower turning on but nothing on the screen and nothing in My Computer. Could you please help me? Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello everyone,

So if the PC doesn't detect the SD card, it could be a driver issue, but you just need to update it:

Open the "computer" window and select "system properties" from the tab above.
In the taskbar on the left, click on "device manager" (don’t worry, a window will pop up asking for your permission, choose "continue")

- A new "device manager" window will appear: be careful.... look for the little symbols in front of each device name, especially "USB bus controller"; click on the "+" symbol next to it. If you see a yellow exclamation mark, that's where the problem originates.
- Just right-click and choose "update driver software" then "search automatically for updated driver software online"......

Wait and restart your computer, do the same manipulation and normally the exclamation marks have disappeared and magiiiic it works.

check that your SD card is not in the "lock" position, otherwise connect your SD card to your computer and check through "This PC" (right-click and then properties to ensure your drivers are up to date...)
Try formatting your SD card afterwards (in plain terms, preparing the card to receive files or others)

salut tout le monde ... je crois que j'ai trouvé la réponse pour tous. le problème c'est les mises à jour de votre périphérique ou pilote. et pour trouver les mises à jour c'est simple ;
SOLUTION 1 : connectez-vous sur ce site : Ma-config.com une fois que vous êtes connectés :
1-exécutez le contrôle ActiveX (fenêtre bloquée)
2-cliquez sur démarrer la détection
une fois la détection terminée :
3-cliquez sur '' Télécharger les drivers compatibles avec cette configuration ''
4-vous trouverez toutes vos mises à jour de vos pilotes et il ne reste plus qu'à exécuter
sinon :
solution 2 : connectez-vous sur le site de votre marque de PC par exemple : hp support .fr où vous trouverez tous les pilotes

After buying a new card without success, I bought an SDHC reader and miracle, it works on both machines.

I suspect Crosoft of wanting us to buy a newer PC.

Hello,

following a previous post, I made a manipulation

"I checked if the box was checked in "Control Panel" "Programs" "Programs and Features" and in the left margin I clicked on "Turn Windows features on or off" but the box "Removable storage management" was indeed checked. "

In this case, I used their problem to check for myself, and indeed the box "removable storage management was not checked!

I then checked it and it works for me, for all the people who think that it's not their card but the computer, please do this check ...

I had the same problem with my netbook
My PC did not recognize any inserted SD memory card.
But the previous solution did not work

I found (for me) a way to make my PC recognize the SD card reader.

I will indicate the path I followed in case it is useful for XP.

My SD card is in the reader

start
settings
control panel
administrative tools
computer management
storage
disk management. At this point, you should see your hard drives with a drive letter (C:) (B:) etc., depending on the number of hard drives or partitions you have.
If you see a line with Removable Disk ? as well as the volume that corresponds to your card with no drive letter, then

right-click on this line
then
Change Drive Letter and Paths....
assign a letter different from that of your hard drives and
OK

and immediately you will see your SD card recognized by your computer.
It seems complicated for beginners like me, but if I managed it, you should be able to too lol

Good evening, I found a little solution that works pretty well:
- Slide the SD card into your laptop
- Connect your laptop to your computer
- And normally the SD card should be detected.

I had this problem, the card not recognized by the PC, which doesn’t show up in the device manager. The solution I found is super simple and worked for me, so I'm sharing:

turn off your computer. unplug it.

press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

turn the PC back on.

I am posting my solution in case it helps. I want to clarify that I am using Windows 8.

Go to Task Manager, Disk Drives, right-click on "Generic - SD/MMC USB Device," select "Properties."

In the "Policies" tab, check "Better performance."

It has been working great for me since then.

Here is one of the solutions to access your MMC/SD memory card

In the "Device Manager", then in "Storage Controllers", uninstall by right-clicking on your "MMC/SD device" (WARNING the memory card must be removed from your computer beforehand).

Once the operation is complete, insert your memory card and it will install automatically.
