Hello,
When I create a table with multiple columns/rows and want to insert an image, it shifts the text inside the cell, even though I've set the disposition option to "image behind text." I've already tried checking/unchecking "move with text" and "fix position on page," as well as anchoring the image, toggling "move with text," "allow text wrapping," etc. "Layout in table cell" is grayed out, and I can't uncheck it. It's seriously annoying me. Thank you very much for your valuable help!
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 68.0

Hi Marina, sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation :) I’ll try to explain it differently: if you set an image as a background in a table cell, "behind the text", the text shouldn't move, the text that's highlighted, yet that text still shifts. Is that clearer? I wanted to include explanatory images but couldn't because I'm not (yet) a member :)
Thank you very much for your future help and see you soon! -
Hello Lydo.
The manipulation you are trying to do is possible in the text body of Word, but not inside a table.
And to upload images or files:1) Go to https://www.cjoint.com/
2) Click on [Browse] to select your file (maximum 15 MB)
3) Scroll down to click on the blue button [Create Cjoint link]
4) After a few seconds, the second page will display, with the link in bold; right-click on it and choose "Copy link"
5) Return to your discussion on CCM, and in your message, paste it.

Good evening Raymond, thank you very much for your reply, although it doesn't suit me :( Do you know why we can't anymore? I saw that it worked under older Word versions (I found some answers dating back several years), it's stupid that they changed that! If I place the anchor of my image at the bottom of the page I can mess around, but as soon as we modify anything this image disappears, grr! If suddenly another idea comes to you, I'm all ears, I wanted to create labels with different background images for each with text on top, and right now that's not really feasible.
Got it about inserting images, thanks! Have a lovely evening. -

Hello,
There isn't a feature like in PowerPoint to set an image as a cell background, and it has never existed. That being said, there's nothing new with the recent versions. You can indeed insert an image, choose a "behind text" layout, and write over it. It was like that before and it’s still like that.
You just need to check that the anchoring is correctly set to the cell. Otherwise, the image won't be anchored to the cell, and if the table moves due to adding or removing text before, the image won't move with the table. Aside from that, I don't see where the problem is.
However, in a text box, I don't see how to place an image with a layout underneath. In Raymond's example, these are stacked images.

Hello Marina, thank you once again for your reply. Here is the link where I saw that it could be done (I tried, unsuccessfully): https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-15722191-pb-image-dans-tableau-word
And hello to you Raymond, yes I thought about your idea of overlaying text, and I did make a mail merge :) I had thought it worked like a table. I will try your suggestions, thank you very much!

Here, Raymond, 2 images (I did everything as you said :D) where you can see the text shifting.
Thank you again for everything :) -
Hello,
I don't know if this question is still relevant, but the issue is that we don't really know what the expected result is, nor how the image is inserted (directly in a cell, in the text?).
We also don't know what you mean by "it shifts the text ". If you insert an image, it will inevitably "shift" things...
So, the lack of precision explains the non-response.
