First, try restarting your iPhone. If the problem persists, check that you have the latest version compatible with your iPhone.

If the app continues to close by itself, uninstall and reinstall it.

I’m also having the same issue with a game (Casual Arena).
Apple is blocking the updates...

This same application works fine on my iOS 12.
The last compatible version of the app crashes by itself or regularly freezes (shows a black screen) on my iOS 9.
Unfortunately, I think there’s nothing I can do...

I’ve already uninstalled it, restarted iOS, and then reinstalled the game; it doesn’t work for me. I can't perform a complete restart with the tactile Home button.

Try if your Home button isn’t broken ;-)
Charge it for at least 10 minutes.
Don’t unplug & Press the Power button and the Home button (the center one at the bottom) simultaneously for 30 seconds.
