Philips D400 Duo

Solved

Hello,
Since the installation of fiber at my home, I no longer have access to the various settings of my D400 Duo phone (directory, date and time, etc.)
Moreover, when receiving calls from contacts, the answering machine no longer works, and there is no display of the names that are properly entered in the directory.
For your information, I am connected using an "Extender-Ethernet" socket as there is no telephone socket near the Livebox Play.
Is my landline phone compatible with this type of connection?
Thank you for your response.
Best regards.

    Hello,

I don't know this specific model of the box. But the phone should be plugged into the phone port of the box.

    Best regards

      Good evening,
      Thank you for your reply.
I tried plugging directly into the phone jack of the box but it doesn't work.
      Best regards.

It is, however, its natural connection location. We should wait for someone knowledgeable about this equipment to join the discussion.

However, one remark: if the fiber is recent, has the disconnection of the ADSL account been properly carried out by the ISP? Because the line may not be operational yet on the fiber subscription as it is still on the ADSL connection.

      Hi

Could you please confirm that you connected the RJ11 phone cable to the green socket of the Livebox Play? (And nothing to the grey socket since you're on fiber)

      Like this

The Orange Ethernet Extenders are just powerline adapters that have nothing to do with telephony

They "replace" an Ethernet network cable

I don’t understand why you mention no phone socket at the Livebox Play location.?

    Hello,
Is the phone a Philips D400 (one button on the base) or a D405 (multiple buttons on the base - built-in answering machine)?

No more access to the landline settings? (this has nothing to do with fiber).

Before the fiber, where was this phone connected? to a box or a standard wall socket?

    The Extender internet socket???
As jee pee pointed out above, the phone must be connected to the green socket of the livebox play and the phone activation is not immediate (max 48h)

Excerpt from the box manual page 26 (15 of the pdf)

      Hi

The Extenders are powerline adapters as I mentioned, as well as the connection to the green socket

If the IP phone is not active, it will be indicated on the box's display.

        Hi
my response had been hired before your intervention and validated more than an hour later... So I didn't see it.

      Good evening,
The landline phone was connected to an old white Livebox.
The phone line is indeed available.
I am sending you the information regarding the different connections attached.
      Thank you for your help.
      Best regards.

What are the two "High definition" phones?
Did you connect your two handsets directly wirelessly to the Livebox?

      Hello,
The 2 phones should be the D400 Duo.
The D400 not being HD, the issue is probably due to that.
I saw that it was possible to pair HD phones (for example: Sagemcom D49 Duo) without a direct connection to the green port of the Livebox.
      Thank you for your advice.

You need to know if you have completed the pairing procedure of the two handsets D400/405 with the box.

You did not answer the question of whether it is a D400 (without integrated answering machine) or a D405 (with integrated answering machine).

Thus, connected to the base only serves as a charger (there's no need to make the wired phone connection between base and box).
The features of it are therefore obsolete.

If you want to restore the functioning of your phone like "before".
You need to unpair the handsets from the box; this requires not powering on the phone base so that the "unpairing" properly takes place from the box and not from the base.
Then, after powering on the base again, you need to check that the handsets are still recognized by the base and connect the base to the green socket of the box.

      Good evening Baladur13,
A big thank you for your help.
Everything is back to normal thanks to your advice.
The phone is properly connected to the green socket of the Livebox and it’s working.
