DVD player on TV no sound!

Hello, and thank you in advance for your responses to a brand new member.
I just bought a Takara KDV103 DVD player and tried to connect it to my (not very young like me!) Waltham WTHD 3212B TV, via the SCART socket. I get a correct image but no sound. I've tried many settings in vain. I'm left with your skills and kindness, and I sincerely thank you.

    Hello and welcome to the forum,

    Have you tried another SCART cable?
