Connecting DVD player and TV via HDMI

Hello,
I connected my DVD player (SABA DV 345HDMCRX) with an HDMI cable to the TV (SONY KDL 40Z4500) which works perfectly... in TV mode. I've tried all the HDMI sources on the TV, changed the HDMI cable, but nothing works, no signal on the TV.
What should I do?
Before our move, everything was working with a Scart plug (cable thrown away). Could there be an HDMI failure, and how can I find it?
Thank you for your help and have a great day.

    Hello.

    >>> HDMI cable <<<

    Personally, I also exchanged a SCART cable for an HDMI one. Supposedly because the picture is better. Except that... I didn't see any difference at all! Oh yes... that I had to change the source on the TV, while with the SCART cable, the DVD player displayed immediately (so no hassle). Result, HDMI cable bought for 15 € at Leclerc = trash.

    See you...

      Hello Jojo, okay I see that we have the same problem. The only difference is that I might need to buy a SCART cable; so back to square one. Nice progress! But who knows, maybe a kind soul will be able to point me to a magic setting, I hope!
      Have a good day.
