Hello,

I am not familiar with your smartphone. But if it is organized like all Samsung devices, SMS and MMS are handled by the Messages app that is already installed.

Best regards.

Hello,

There is always this alternative:

=> Message N8

You're welcome, but there must necessarily be an app present from the start where its creator has paid to be there from the beginning like other essential Google apps: Google Chrome, YouTube, Hangouts, etc.

Of course! That's what I wrote from the very beginning. And this app is called Messages.
We can't imagine that Samsung designed a smartphone that expensive without including an app to send SMS!

Generally, the icon is orange; it is indeed called "Messages" (unless it is another creator who holds the rights to the model, it may vary for the same manufacturer).

Hello, first of all thank you for answering my question, here's another one.
I'm wondering if the S9 or S9+ has the same features.

If that's the case, yet until now I've only ever had this brand and my last one was the S6, well I still have it.
And I wonder why the S8 didn't sell, ah I understand their commercial failure with this mobile, but if the S9 is the same assembly, phew, I know quite a few people who will switch to another brand H......... I won’t say more. To wrap it up, I'm getting scolded by this bigot. THANK YOU @+

Was it the exploded battery of the S8?

Yes, Huawei and ARCHOS are also very good (if we are talking about high-end obviously, as their range is very wide + of 300€) and therefore are close to the quality that Samsung offers for graphics, colors, sound coming directly from the smartphone/tablet, and haptics.

Hello,

You are going to return the smartphone and in exchange, we will probably sell you another one that is a bit more expensive!

You would have been better off not losing patience and taming the beast, because you will encounter the same problems on the smartphone that we will offer you.

You would have seen that the "Memo" app that you miss is likely present, most probably in a group of icons called "Tools."

The displayed icons are not those of all the installed applications:
To access them, Samsung offers 2 possibilities depending on the smartphones:
- either an Apps icon (9 small gray dots on a white background)
- or swipe up from the bottom of the screen

There you go!
I regret not being able to help you more, but you didn't really make it easy for VincentVoltaCCM and me.

Have a good day!

Yes, I still don't really understand what the problem is.
There is a lack of information / exploitation / descriptions of the problem...

What manipulations do you want to perform?
"MEMO" very practical, but what did it allow?

Good evening, thank you for responding. Basically, here’s the main issue, which is the most bothersome: there’s a musical function that allows me to know when I receive an email or SMS/MMS – okay, that works, but the function never stops, going "dingdong" every 3 minutes. It's impossible to configure this function, so I put it on mute and then I don't know when I receive something. I think I’ll return it to the seller. I'm going to try the S9, but I'm afraid it will be pretty much the same. That’s it, THANK YOU if you have a solution, I'm all ears. Catch you later!

Good evening,

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Notification Reminder
Disable

Hello, thank you once again for trying to help me, but I installed the software you recommended, which is great, but nothing changes; the notification remains the same, and nothing stops this sound. I would even say it's worse; instead of every 3 minutes, it's every 45 seconds.

Normal since the problem is not resolved!

The only thing that surprises me is the 45-second delay. I thought the minimum duration for the repetition was 1 minute.
So:
- either I was mistaken about the source of the problem
- or Samsung has refined the durations on the new smartphones
- or you made a mistake in taking the measurement.

On your marks!

Well, now I've switched to my computer for the responses. I prefer to stop at least until tomorrow morning. I'm resting my eyes a bit; I really should format it completely and reinstall all the functions one by one, but I'm not skilled enough to do that. I'll try to read the manual if I can find it in French; even English I can't read nowadays, which is not normal. But I'm too old to learn this language. Just look at Google Play, most software is in English, so I don't even look at it; I just pass it by. Anyway, now there’s nothing, no sound is coming through.
Thank you, pierr10.
And thanks to everyone else who is following the progress.

Yes, you already have a visual element.

You haven't answered; it doesn't work as soon as you set another notification sound with ZEDGE?

Yes, this notification works perfectly, by the way this software is amazing but unfortunately it doesn't give me the sound feedback since I can't hear anything..
Thank you VincentVoltaCCM .@+

Does it not sound at all anymore?

michaelandreas Posted messages 14 Status Member 2

Re good for a Sunday, I've regained control of the beast but now I have no sound at all, nothing. So at the moment, I have a family member on the road and I absolutely need to stay on the screen to know if everything is going well or not. So for now, I'm stopping the fight; tomorrow morning I'll try again a bit. If there are no new developments, then it will be repackaging and return to the seller.
Thank you for everything, Pierre, you are really a pro; I wouldn't have had your patience.
Once again, thank you to you and to everyone else.
Have a good day. @ +

It can definitely be adjusted in the settings...
Just send all the proposals (screenshots).

To take screenshots with Android, for each case, briefly press both buttons simultaneously:

Case 1: The bottom of the volume down button (“volume -”) with the Power/Lock button
Case 2: The central general button located at the bottom of the screen with the Power/Lock button.
Case 3: The bottom of the volume up button (“volume +”) with the central general button located at the bottom of the screen.
And it gets saved and can be viewed in the gallery.

3 vertical dots / a gear in the “Message” app?

Have you checked the user manual?
(Draty offers it for certain models)

I believe you need someone to help you with your smartphone.

You certainly lack some basic manipulation skills and a few concepts about the organization and functioning of Android.
As a result, despite all your efforts and good will, you're stuck with relatively simple problems.
Why not ask at the store where you made the purchase?

Good luck!

Yes, Pierr10, but the store is huge, a globally known company. I can't give the name; I just spoke to them on the phone: they agreed to take it back, so tomorrow morning I'll send it off, and that's it.
But the question I asked a day or two ago:
What do you think about the S9? Is it the same beast according to them, and the ad on TV mentions photography?
Well, but if it's as difficult to program, for me, it'll be simple. I'll just stick with my S6, and that'll be that. Talk to you later.

Androids have a lot of common points....
What changes is mainly the way to make the adjustments, indeed.
The version of Android is what causes the most modifications.
It's the same with the operating systems Windows or iOS, by the way.

Conclusion:
Returning won't solve the problem unless you buy a phone instead of a smartphone!

The app is indeed Orange:
