How to change the SMS storage location on Android?

Hello,
The internal memory of my phone is getting close to full capacity. I've configured all the apps I could to store their data on the SD card, but I'm starting to think that it's the SMS/MMS messages that are taking up space, and I can't find a way to store them on the SD card as well.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions in that regard.

Hello,
An app only saves to an SD card as long as it is installed, which means you would need to uninstall it (this is not possible if it is a system Android app) and reinstall it after backing up your SMS, for example:

That said, the space taken by SMS is negligible; it's the media from MMS that takes up space: depending on the case, delete them after copying them to an external storage or not.
