Hello everyone.
Here is my problem, I just acquired a Keops Neo 500GB multimedia hard drive, I'm transferring my videos (PC-->multimedia) but when I connect it to the television nothing shows on the screen, yet everything is fine on the hard drive.
My configuration is:
Intel P4 3GB
Graphics card 512MB
Memory 1024
Windows XP Home SP2
Do you have a solution? Thank you...

I had the same problem when purchasing this equipment. Behind the device, there is a jumper, which is a strip of plastic covering two straight pins.
Depending on where you place them (there are three or four positions, I can't remember), your films will be visible on the TV or not.
Only one position allows reading on both the PC and the TV; move the jumper, try slave or master... it's written small.
Finally, it worked for me.

Various Issues:
- Case, remote control and power adapter of very low quality (Case buttons stick, shabby remote control, etc...)
---> Repair case buttons with glue + silicone + cardboard support...
---> Remote control irreparable due to positioning issue of the 2 batteries... Possibility to purchase a new remote control via technical support (Price: €7.90)
---> Wobbly power adapter plug, do not fully insert the plug into the case... or resolder this plug inside the case... :)
- Formatting in NTFS or FAT32 does not resolve any display issues of files in TV mode
---> Must copy files (in PC mode) and not move them (also works on itself, i.e. I copy the file to be viewed one by one into another directory)
- Character recognition issue (punctuation) (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files present on the hard drive in TV mode)
--> Remove punctuation (é, à,...) and shorten names of files that are too long
- Recognition problem of certain video files (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files present on the hard drive in TV mode)
---> Identify and delete the problematic file
- No updated firmware found (Current version: MT_35_P6_12_01 (2007/07/17))
--> Call to technical support today: NO FIRMWARE UPDATE
- Recognition issue of a hard drive
--> Change the jumper to MASTER or CABLE SELECT (CS) mode
--> Do not set to SLAVE
- To properly maintain this piece of junk, here are the steps to follow:
USAGE IN TV MODE
Device off...
1. Disconnect the USB cable !!!
2. Connect the AUDIO and VIDEO cables to the TV
3. Turn on the case
USAGE IN USB HARD DRIVE MODE
Device off...
1. Connect the USB cable to the PC
2. The hard drive will then automatically turn on...
3. Copy your movies (do not move, avoid long names and special characters)
4. Properly disconnect the hard drive from the PC (Remove the device via windows...)
5. Remove the USB cable
6. The hard drive will then automatically turn off...
Here’s a little recap on this product, which deserves to be called a beautiful piece of junk that you need to know how to tame!
See you soon...

Hello
I also have a problem with this type of hard drive, I have a Keops 1TB
I formatted the hard drive into 2 parts of 500GB and so far everything was working fine, the files appeared on the PC and I could watch the videos on the TV, but tonight when I try to play a movie, it starts with a black screen that distorts and then returns to the blue screen of the TV??
Does anyone know what this could be?
I checked all the connections and everything is properly plugged in, so I don't see what's wrong.

----> FAUX

Hello the druid,
thank you for your quick response, so it is indeed in NTFS, but is there a reason why it doesn't display on the TV while it works fine when I burn it to a DVD? I'm sorry but I'm not good with computers! I forgot to mention the movies are in AVI and MPEG4.

Yes! That's exactly the problem. A media that is supposed to be used must be formatted in FAT32.
Solution because XP does not allow formatting a disk larger than 32GB in FAT, you can use Gparted or the small utility like fat32format, both of which are free.
My site for Gparted > http://altpc.neuf.fr/Gparted/Gparted
For fat32format, you can download it from the web and then you need to unzip it and go to console mode to run it.
If you're interested in fat32format, come back for more information...

Hi,
without being sure of what I think, check the partition format type on this disk, is it FAT or NTFS?
To find out if it's FAT or NTFS, when it's connected to your PC, right-click on the drive and then on Properties.

Great!
But for me, it's a bit like "Chinese," so if I understand correctly, to watch my movies on the television, I need to format it to FAT32? But there's a display on the television; am I going to lose it: -movie, music, photo..... and does it need to be FAT32 format?
Sorry if I'm being a bit annoying, but I don't want to mess up!

ok! it's not very complicated.
1- you can retrieve it here > http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm
2- Then unzip it to the root of C:\
3- then from Run type cmd and once on the black screen of the console type cd\ to place yourself at the root of C:\
4- Once on C:\ you type fat32format.exe X: Replace the letter X with that of your external drive, Attention! not to mix up the letters or you'll format in fat the drive designated by the letter entered.
Don't forget to press the Enter key after each command entered and to leave a space between fat32format.exe and the letter of your drive to format. Also be aware that formatting erases everything on the designated drive.

Ah yes, but it won't erase everything that's displayed on the TV, right? Because then... I wouldn't be able to watch the DivX.
Yes! You don't have much choice, it's FAT or nothing. A software that converts NTFS to FAT without deleting the data on the disk is not available for free.

Well, yes, you have nothing left, that's what I told you, it seems... Formatting erases everything on the hard drive.
Now you do have the manual & installation CD-ROM to reset it.

Hello, did you sleep well?
Well, I do have a CD, but there are only things I don't understand:
-firmware.rom
-AT2_CY68300 For Win98 Driver----->AT2 Blaster
I---->Driver
I---->SuperSite
How do you install the firmware?
Sorry, but if I had known, I would have refrained from buying something like this!

1- To answer your question about firmware, look here >https://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:fr:official&hs=uzy&defl=fr&q=define:Firmware&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title&gws_rd=ssl
2- What exactly do you want regarding the problem of playing DivX on the TV...

Well, I actually have some DivX files, but they don't appear on the multimedia drive on the PC; we can see them, but not on the television.
So it's a codec issue, you need to install the right codecs. Anyway, if you search on Google, you'll see that many people have problems with these media players. Not necessarily with the same brand as yours, but with other brands.

I saw the firmware, but that doesn't explain how to put it back in the Multimedia player. I'm never going to make it!!!
I'm sorry, but I can't help you more as I've never used this type of media. One thing I am sure of is that only the FAT format is accepted for the TV to read files on this media.
For the rest, post another message on CCM in the TV/Cinema forum or one of the forums best suited to address your issue.
Sorry to leave you in this deadlock, but I don't have more potion!
I hope you find it, because it's really not funny to be stuck here.
Good luck and keep me posted if you find the solution, it will help others.
Thank you for your understanding.
