Hello,
I have a Neo Kheops 500 GB multimedia hard drive, but the remote control is out of service.
The problem is that I can't find a universal remote control that could work.
If you know a website where I could buy a functional remote control, I thank you in advance.
Thanks to all

Do you still have the remote control?
NEO KHEOPS V551
Firmware: MT_35_P6_12_01 (2007/07/17)

NCA TECHNOLOGY

Various issues:
- Case, remote control, and power adapter of very poor quality (case buttons get stuck, shoddy remote, etc...
---> Repair the buttons of the case with glue + silicon + cardboard support...
---> Remote control irreparable due to positioning problem of the 2 batteries... Possibility to purchase a new remote control via technical support (Price: €7.90)
---> Wobbly power adapter plug, do not push the plug completely into the case... or resolder this plug inside the case... :)
- Formatting to NTFS or FAT32 does not solve any file display issues in TV mode
---> You must copy the files (in PC mode) and not move them (also works on itself, meaning I copy the file to be viewed into another directory one by one)
---> Test moving all files directly to the root of the hard drive (ROOT), without ANY directory
- Character recognition problems (punctuation) (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files present on the hard drive in TV mode)
--> Remove punctuation (é, à,...) and shorten file names that are too long
- Problem recognizing certain video files (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files present on the hard drive in TV mode)
---> Identify and delete the file causing the issue
- No firmware update found (Current version: MT_35_P6_12_01 (2007/07/17))
--> Call to technical support today: NO FIRMWARE UPDATE
- Hard drive recognition problem
--> Change the jumper to MASTER or CABLE SELECT (CS) mode
--> Do not set to SLAVE
- To properly maintain this piece of junk, here are the steps to follow:
USING IN TV MODE
Device off...
1. Absolutely disconnect the USB cable!!!
2. Connect AUDIO and VIDEO cables to the TV
3. Turn on the case
USING IN USB HARD DRIVE MODE
Device off...
1. Connect the USB cable to the PC
2. The hard drive then turns on automatically...
3. Copy your movies (do not move, avoid long names and special characters)
4. Properly disconnect the hard drive from the PC (Remove the device via Windows...)
5. Remove the USB cable
6. The hard drive then turns off automatically...
Here is a little summary of this product, which deserves to be considered a beautiful piece of junk that needs to be tamed!
Furthermore...
- The firmware is the microcode of the multimedia case (So NOTHING to do with the hard drive itself)
cf. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firmware
- There are no drivers for the multimedia case... The driver is natively managed by WinXP-VISTA-7, the case is then recognized as a standard USB hard drive
- No need to create partitions... No need to format to FAT32 or convert to FAT32
- If you are using NTFS, the only difference that interests us would be that there are "securities": meaning that you will sometimes need to modify the "security access" on the multimedia case's hard drive.
---> MY COMPUTER --> Right-click on your multimedia hard drive --> PROPERTIES --> SECURITY tab -->> add -> type: everyone then OK -> Check: all boxes on "allow" then OK
