Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro NB10t-A-106 laptop, the HDD suddenly died so I replaced it with an SSD, but when I wanted to install Windows with a bootable USB key, I saw that the BIOS had not been updated so I didn't have the UEFI boot option.
I tried to set the partition to MBR or GPT non-CSM with Rufus or with Win to USB but nothing worked.
I attempted to update the BIOS using a USB key but it’s beyond my skills.
I then bought a SATA to USB cable to install Windows from another PC but without success...
I would like to know if you have a solution to try. Thank you very much!

Hello,
whether the computer has UEFI or not, it should be able to boot from a USB key; the ability to boot from a USB depends on whether the BIOS has that capability, and it has nothing to do with UEFI.
In Rufus, you need to choose MBR.
With Toshiba, by pressing F12, you should be able to access a "boot menu"; it's possible that this F12 option needs to be enabled in the BIOS.
In the BIOS, you should have a boot menu to select the boot order, and there should be a place where you can configure USB settings.
If you can take photos of the BIOS menus, that would help us.

Hello,
Don't mess with the BIOS, given your PC it is originally UEFI.
Your USB stick should be for GPT (your SSD will be as well)
But where did you get your Windows ISO from?
Original Windows 8 or 10?
Because it could simply be your USB stick improperly made with a bad ISO.
Or a secure boot option (security or boot tab in the BIOS) needs to be disabled to allow booting from the USB stick, hence Jumulka's request for the images.
That was just to give you a clue about your USB stick, to know how you made it, if it's good or not.

You need to redo your key because it might be poorly made..
But which Windows did you have?
If it’s 10, redo your key with their software to start:
