Where to find Pinnacle Studio 9 or equivalent?

Hello,

I have a Canon MVX-460 Mini DV FireWire camcorder that came with Studio 9.
I still have quite a few films to recover, but I need to format my PC and I can't find the CD with Studio 9 (probably lost during moving).
My question is: do you know how I can get a version of Studio 9? I haven't contacted Pinnacle yet, but I'm not sure they still have such an old version. Or do you know of any software that could replace it and that would recognize the camcorder and be compatible with my PC?
Knowing that the PC is equipped with Windows XP Home Edition, AMD Athlon XP 2600+ at 1.91 GHz, 1 GB of RAM

I know it’s a very old configuration, but this PC has the advantage of having a FireWire port (essential for connecting the camcorder in question), which my very recent laptop does not have.

Thank you for your help

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 66.0.3359.139

Hello and welcome as a new member
What do you mean by "I'm going to format my PC"?
You can't say you have a high-performance machine! But if you did it before, you can do it now on this PC, just forget about Studio 9!!! I don’t know of any recent software that still works with Windows XP
You have the Windows Movie Maker software by default on your computer that will do the job
Pinnacle might offer you upgrade options to Studio 21 with a good discount if you have the serial number and were registered on the site
However, you will need a powerful PC; you can recover your firewire input if the new motherboard slots correspond. You will definitely have to switch to Windows 10 in 64 bits. If this is your choice, I can suggest an optimum configuration for doing modern video editing

Hello,

I will format the hard drive, I have a lot of error messages at startup and Windows XP tends to crash quite a bit. I do have a laptop, but it doesn't have FireWire. And I don't want to spend money on new equipment. I will check in installed Studio 9 if I have the serial number.

Hello, I understand your approach, but I don’t think you can have a copy of Studio 9. We can try; I might be wrong.

Hello,
There's that good old Windows Movie Maker that works just fine.
You can find it for download on the Microsoft download center:
https://windows-movie-maker.fr.uptodown.com/windows/telecharger

Good luck.
