Hello,
I have Office 2016 Pro v. Japanese [purchased in Japan] that I installed without any issues using the master DVD + code. Everything works well, I can work.
However, I would like to be able to set it to French... I tried with the Language preferences... which only shows
two languages: Japanese and English = active. French is grayed out... [see photo] I assume I need to download and install the FR pack... I went to the MS site... download = message: sorry we cannot install the pack etc...
Could you please help me? Thank you in advance.
Sergio

Hello Sergio;
I could be wrong, but I don't think a Japanese version can be translated into French and then activated?? But you can try following the instructions in the link below, and if that doesn't work, just do as mentioned in this link! (for your information, I did this on 2 machines in early December 2017 without any issues and completely legally)
See this link or this one
There are 2 solutions;
1- Either you buy a license and you receive it with a download link from Microsoft ....
2- You burn an ISO image to a DVD and install from that
ATTN: Whichever option you choose, you must completely and properly uninstall the already installed Office bundle first, otherwise you won't be able to perform a new installation (if you have trouble uninstalling, come back here)
Catch you later for your comments, but if none >> Topic resolved
Best regards

Aging well: It is to prefer the time that remains to the time that passes
Thanks for the feedback ..
As mentioned above, I don't think it's possible but ??
If the French is greyed out, I believe there are language packs (Here) but can we activate it afterwards??? Personally, I've never done it!
See you+
I'd like to mark it as "resolved" but I don't know how to do it. Sorry.
Sergio
Thanks for the response ...
If you want to download an ISO image, you need to go to the website I mentioned earlier ...
I will take care of marking it as resolved (to mark it as resolved, click on the gear icon at the top right of your first message)
Talk to you later and best regards.
