Unsupported video type
Hello, I'm a camper van owner and my Alden TV works well with my Alden satellite dish, no problem there. However, with the loss of TF1, I had a Telco+ terrestrial antenna installed, which will also serve me in other situations. Now, despite scanning all the channels in automatic search, I get the message: unsupported video type. What can I do? The technician who installed the antenna tells me I need to buy a new TV and a pointer.
I want to emphasize that I have switched to DTV mode and memorized the channels, but right after that: unsupported video type.
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 49.0.2623.112

Hello, thank you very much for all your answers. What I find strange is that the technician who installed the antenna didn't mention this possibility to me, very odd.

But you're welcome, and this technician might be selling TVs... ;))
Hello,
Your TV is probably not Mpeg4, so please give us its complete reference for confirmation.

Hello,
The technician (and Andy) are right; your TV is MPEG2 and therefore "does not support MPEG4 video."
But if I'm reading you correctly, the pointer and your semi-automatic Alden antenna are working, it's just the fact (it was just the fact since TF1 has now returned) that the satellite is working again.
If you want to use the terrestrial antenna (as a backup, for example), you just need to add a terrestrial TNT HD adapter, which costs about 20 to 30€, and connect it via HDMI to your current TV.
That's cheaper than changing the TV (which is very expensive for CC...)

The reference for my TV is: brand Alden: A I O 16tha-A -O

Thank you Andy, you tell me to buy an HDMI cable, but where do I plug it in? On the right side, I have a Scart socket,
a socket for the terrestrial TV, and a blue trapezoidal socket with several holes
on the other side there’s a slot for the satellite antenna connector, a female socket marked data,
the slot for the TNTsat card, and a socket marked USB sat
there you go Andy and I'm sorry for my limited knowledge.
thank you
best regards Alain from Gers

Hello, I started my research but so far it's not easy to find 12v, 220v yes, but not 12v. I will eventually find it.
In the Narbonne catalog from 2016, there is an article mentioning this transition to MPEG4 during the night of April 4 to 5, 2016. However, I still have a question: why does my TV work well on the Astra satellite in HD
but not when I search for channels with my terrestrial antenna, which records but then gives me an immediate message (unsupported video type)? I find it hard to understand why it's fine with the satellite but not with the terrestrial signal.
Thank you, Andy, for all this information.

And I found you this, very discreet and 12 volts:
