Hello,
I have had an HP Deskjet 2540 printer for a long time. It has always worked, but now it refuses to print anything.
I have tried via USB and Wifi, but the same problem persists. I attempted to uninstall the printer drivers, install a generic driver (through Add a printer in Devices and Printers), reinstall Windows, modify the folder to 3_old (which is located at C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64), remove the devices related to the printer (in Device Manager), restart the Print Spooler, but nothing works.
When I try to print, there is indeed a printer icon in the taskbar, but when I hover my cursor over it, it says: "0 documents pending for XXX" (see screenshot), whereas it normally should say "1 document pending for XXX".
On the other hand, when I try to print a test page from the printer software, the page prints correctly.
Could you help me solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
