Hello everyone.

I just bought (I received it last night) an Acer laptop (Acer Nitro 5). It’s a gaming PC.

The battery has a lifespan of 8 hours and 30 minutes according to its specifications, but it only lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Is that normal? That's why I’m asking for your help.

My uncle advised me to charge it all night, which I did. But right now, it has 85% battery left and it says there are 2 hours and 11 minutes left before it reaches 0%.

After losing 2%, which brings it down to 83%, the battery indicates there are 1 hour and 54 minutes left.

The battery time fluctuates despite having a high percentage of charge.

I welcome all answers that are thoughtful, with as much information and detail as possible.

If you need any further information, don't hesitate to ask me.

Best regards.

Hello,

It should be noted that the majority of the announced autonomy is very, very, very exhaustive.

In general, you should already divide the announced autonomy by 2 to get closer to the reality.

Moreover, the autonomy will change significantly depending on how the machine is used.

For example, with a screen brightness set to maximum, it will consume more, and therefore, the battery will drain more quickly.

The same applies to connectivity; with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth active, it consumes more.

The same goes for any backlit keyboards, the presence of USB devices on the machine, etc.
