Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m encountering a very annoying issue with my desktop PC.
As soon as my desk takes a hit (even a light one, like placing an object down or gently tapping the desk with my fist), the video signal cuts out instantly: the screen goes black and I don’t know which fans in the PC start spinning so loudly that it creates a lot of noise.
However, the PC does not fully shut down. The system continues to run in the background: for example, if I’m watching a YouTube video (as in the video I’m sending), the sound continues to work and I can even pause/play.
Here are two videos of the problem in real time to show you exactly what behaves:

A few details about the situation:
The problem only occurs when there are shocks (for example, when I bump into something, or similar).
The sound continues after the display loss.
I have to force the PC to shut down by holding the Power button to restart the display.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,
If you bang on the desk, a component inside the PC may have shifted and become poorly secured, which could affect the graphics card, for example.
The video cable too, or the motherboard that becomes weak when you transmit those shocks to the desk.
How old is the PC? If the case is old, that could affect hardware protection.
You should check everything inside. -
Hello, thank you very much for the response.
I think indeed that a component might be slightly poorly fixed.
The PC is about 6-7 years old I think.
I will keep you posted as soon as possible but I am going on vacation for 2 weeks.
