Hello,

I would like to transfer my photos from the iPad to iCloud to free up some space on the iPad, but when I try to select "iCloud Photo Library" in the settings, a window pops up saying:
Photos and videos synced from iTunes will be deleted; syncing photos via iTunes is not supported if iCloud Photo Library is enabled. 987 photos and videos will be deleted.
Does this mean that they will only be removed from my iPad and that I will find them on iCloud, or are they deleted completely?

If they are deleted completely, how can I recover the photos?

Thank you for your help

Configuration: MacBook Pro 15, mid-2010, Intel Core i5 2.53 GHz, 8 GB OS X 10.11.1, iMac 20, 2008, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 4 GB OS X 10.9, iPad Air 9.1

Hello, to respond directly, the answer is no, the photos and videos will be deleted from the iPad and will not be on iCloud.
The photos and videos added to the iPad via iTunes will disappear. But logically you have the photos and videos in question on your computer, so this shouldn't be a problem.
With the iCloud Photo Library option enabled, the photos on the iPad cannot be synced with iTunes and iCloud, it's one or the other; that's why you have the warning message indicating that the photos and videos added with iTunes to the iPad will be deleted.
If you do have the photos and videos on your computer, you can add them to iCloud later and have them available on your iPad.
You can do this by logging into the iCloud.com website or by installing the Apple software "iCloud for Windows" on your computer.
