Hello,
I’m really frustrated because I know nothing about computers and my daughter, who used to help me with these issues, now lives far away in student housing, so... Help!
I have a PC that my daughter bought for me; it was running Vista, but she upgraded it to Windows 7 (I think).
I tried to install my Canon Pixma MG 3000 printer, and here's the problem: I insert the CD and a message says, "this program cannot be used with the current operating system."
Can someone help me step by step? Thank you.

Hello
it's "normal"
your CD is intended for Vista, maybe also XP, in 32 bits
so you need the installation software for W7 in 32 or 64 depending on your system
the first thing to do is to know whether you're on 32 or 64
from the start menu (the desktop)
right-click on "Computer" and then "Properties"
in the page that appears you will see Windows 7 of course, then a bit lower system type: if 64-bit is indicated, then you are on 64
after you know this essential information, you can download your drivers,
create a "new folder" on the desktop
and save the download there
but be careful mg3000 is not on the list, are you sure it's exactly 3000? often it's the 3000 series but in reality the model is different, check the label under or on the back of the device
