New computer that is very slow

Hello,

As soon as I started my new laptop, I noticed that it was much slower than my old HP PC, which is packed with files and is already 7 years old...

This is my first time using Windows 10, which I don't really appreciate yet (too used to Windows 7)

My problem is that it's slow, I can't work on it; even though it's new, I don't know if it's a virus or another issue but it's very frustrating.

Suddenly the page stops responding, or it doesn't react immediately when I type a word on Google, there's a delay even to delete a sentence; it doesn't happen all the time but quite often (right now it's writing without any problem and at my pace).

I would like to know what to do to solve this problem; I don't want to send it back because it has a fairly good configuration, after all, I thought that with 4GB of RAM it would be fine...

Could you help me find out if there's a virus or something causing these latency issues? Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 55.0

Hello, thank you for your response

I've had it for more than a month already

Not really, I'm lost with Windows 10, I just know it has 500GB and 4GB of RAM

I also have a problem, if I minimize the window, it completely disappears and it's the same for all the windows

    Thank you

      Do you know your processor?

The first specifications you give me only help me halfway.
4GB of RAM is little, let's say it's the bare minimum for Windows 10 if no additional software is added. Ideally, at least 8GB would be needed.

500GB of disk space doesn't help me. Do you know if it's an HDD or an SSD?
If it's an HDD and it runs at only 5400 RPM, that's another reason showing that you don't have a powerhouse. If your processor is sluggish as well, you'll have a PC that shouldn't be pushed too hard.

You can slightly improve the situation by uninstalling all unnecessary software.
If you right-click on the taskbar and click on "Task Manager," you'll be able to see your memory consumption, etc. This will give you an indication of your PC's performance.

I have a problem, which is that all my windows close when I minimize them. Could you help me with that as well? Thank you.
