The laser on my mouse is not working anymore.

Hello,
My brand new mouse that I received yesterday is no longer working: the optical laser won't light up, but the colored LEDs and the scroll wheel are working, while the extra buttons on the mouse are also non-functional... I simply changed it from the USB port (which was on my PC) to the USB port of my new keyboard and then it stopped working. My system does detect my "gaming mouse". I switched USB ports, but nothing works; I even plugged it into my brother's PC, but it doesn't work there either... HELP :c

Ports used USB 2 or 3?

Did you put it back on the port where it was working?

Make and model of the mouse?

I don't know... I'll take a look. But when I go to my Devices and Printers, I right-click on "usb gaming mouse" and I click on Troubleshoot. It tells me "plug it into a USB 2 and click next." I click next and it says the problem is not resolved and that my mouse may have issues with USB 3... Yet yesterday it was working fine on the same USB port.
