Hello,
I'm deciding to ask my question here after trying everything on my end, but I feel pretty helpless about it... I want to note that I've read all the posts on this forum that could answer my question, but I absolutely couldn't find the answer...
I'm not a pro in computing, so the terms may not be correct, but I'll do my best to describe my problem in detail, and I'll cross my fingers that someone has an answer!
So, my problem is as follows:
Yesterday, I wanted to scan a document using my EPSON DX8400 printer/scanner. It's an old printer (8 years) but it has always worked very well. I went through the Windows Fax and Scan tool as usual, and suddenly, I couldn't start the scan, and this message appeared:
"No scanner has been detected. If a scanner is installed, check that it is powered on and connected to the computer, then try again. For more information on adding or troubleshooting a scanner, see Help and Support."
I scanned documents just 3 days ago and everything went very well.
I checked that the printer is working, and it is; I can print. So it's not a USB cable problem.
I tried scanning with a second printer (this time an EPSON XP 520), and I got the same issue. The printer works, but the scanner doesn't.
The copy function works perfectly.
I checked the drivers, drivers... everything seems up to date.
I ran antivirus scans and anti-malware scans, and found nothing.
I tried all my USB ports, to no avail.
I really have no idea where the problem could come from.
Could there be a connection to the fact that I tried to connect my printer to my computer via wifi? A mishap on my part?
I have an MSI Apache pro computer and Windows 10.
Everything was working perfectly just 3 days ago, and I haven't had any crashes, bugs, or anything suspicious in the meantime.
I apologize for the long message. If any useful information is missing, please let me know, and if you have any clues, thank you!

Thank you for your advice. I finally solved the problem by removing the printer from my computer. I reinstalled everything (including drivers and software) and it works again... go figure...
Thanks anyway, I'll keep it in mind just in case!
