Voicemail has no beep after announcement

Hello, my message is being recorded on my answering machine but there is no beep to leave a message and then it cuts off, what should I do? Thank you.

    It's on the Philips website, so it's the simplest... now you might have gone about it the wrong way, so read your chapter 26 carefully
