Alcatel answering machine not working XL575

Hello, I bought an Alcatel Voice Duo XL575 specifically for the answering machine and it doesn't work; no matter how many voice messages I leave, I can only check them in my email inbox and not via the answering machine on the landline phone.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 52.0

    Hello,
    Your answering machine is poorly programmed...
    It needs to:
    - be set to Answering Machine Recorder and not to Simple Answering Machine
    See the manual § 8.4.1. Answering Machine Recorder/Simple Answering Machine modes
    - have the number of rings that triggers it be less than the number that triggers your operator's voicemail.
    See manual § 8.4.5. Changing the number of rings
    Operators usually set it to 5 rings... a good setting is therefore at 4 rings so that your answering machine answers first.

      Thank you very much for your advice regarding the number of rings; I didn’t understand why the answering machine wasn’t picking up.
