Hello,
I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Once everything was reinstalled and set up, I created a system image, which went without any issues.
However, I am unable to copy the content to another hard drive, whether internal or external. Either it only copies the WindowsImageBackup folder without any files inside, or it copies all the files, but they are 0 bytes.
I never had this problem on Windows 7. Does anyone know where the problem might come from?
Thank you,
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 49.0

Hello
1) Which tool do you use to copy the files?
2) Do you have any errors in the system event log?
3) Check the permissions of the files you want to copy. -

Hello,
And thank you for your reply, dsy73!
1) I'm copying the files with the latest version of ultracopier. To be more precise, for my W7 system image, ultracopier tells me before even starting the copy "error: access denied" (for the file "9c28… for about thirty characters"), whereas I can copy my W10 image up to 98% before ultracopier shows me the same error message for the "MediaID" file.
So, I just tried disabling ultracopier and using the Windows copy utility and… I have no problem copying both images!
So, is the problem with ultracopier? (see point 3) Is there a copying software that is as fast and more reliable than ultracopier? (which seems to be faster than the Windows utility, doesn't it?)
2) No
3) How should I proceed? Note that when starting the copy without ultracopier, Windows shows me a message "You must have administrator rights to copy this folder." "Do this for all current items" is checked by default, and I click the "Continue" button on which a yellow and blue shield appears… However, if I go to my account in "settings," I am indeed in "local account," "administrator"… Aren't these two elements contradictory?
Thank you.-
ok it's just a privilege escalation issue: http://www.toutwindows.com/controle-de-compte-utilisateur-uac/
You can try to run Ultracopier as admin. Right-click on the Ultracopier shortcut and select "Run as administrator."- I had already disabled UAC for my account, but I completely disabled it thanks to your link.
I don't like UltraCopier. I had installed it when I switched to Windows 10. Last night, I made a copy of my data onto an external hard drive. After checking, I was missing about 10 GB of data out of 1.5 TB. I wanted to uninstall it but it was impossible, neither in the Windows utility nor in CCleaner! So I simply disabled it and installed the latest version of SuperCopier that I used under Windows 7, which does an impeccable job (no files missing during copying).
And no issues with SuperCopier for copying my system images.
So my problem is solved!
And I make a note to run SuperCopier as admin if I ever have a problem again!
Thanks for your help, dsy73!
