Copying and pasting files with the same name in W10...

Hello,

under W7 when you copy a file to the desktop that has the same name as one of the files in the destination folder, it offers a third option to intelligently rename the file (1), file (2), etc.
You don’t have to rename it yourself before copying. And you get to see the photos, which allows you to check if it’s really the same photo or not, unlike in W10...

But W10 doesn’t handle it? I have the option to:
- replace the file in the destination
- ignore the file (so it doesn’t paste)
- compare the information of the two files

It seems like a regression as it's less convenient, so I was wondering if I missed something?? Is there an option to enable somewhere, how can I make it work like under W7?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 51.0.2704.84

Well, if someone shares my problem and can really help me, rather than just telling me that it works when it doesn't for me, that would be really nice. Thanks in advance...

I didn’t just say that "it works for me"... Read again instead of disparaging!

Anyway, I don’t see how your answer solves my problem since, apparently, W10 doesn't handle this the same way at my place – I clearly detailed that in my initial message.
So I need someone who has encountered my problem, which doesn't seem to be the case for you, and to know how they would have resolved it or if simply W10 truly regresses on this point and there’s nothing that can be done.

Hello,

Windows 10 manages this perfectly by renaming the file "copy 1," "copy 2," etc.

You are confusing copying, for example, a file to the desktop into a folder with a file of the same name and renaming files that are already in the same folder where, indeed, it is like 7. However, my question concerns the first case.

No, I'm not mistaken. I just tried it, and it works perfectly.
