Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum that I regularly browse, and now it’s my turn to have some “thoughts!”
I received an email from Microsoft about usage updates, and I don’t know whether I should accept it or not. My computer is old and running Vista. What do you think? I’m afraid that by accepting, it will install a new version that won’t be compatible with my hardware.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

You are receiving this message because we are updating the Microsoft Services Agreement, which applies to one or more Microsoft products or services you use. We are making these updates to clarify our terms and ensure they remain transparent for you, and to cover additional Microsoft products, services, and features.
The Microsoft Services Agreement is an agreement between you and Microsoft (or one of its affiliates) that governs your use of Microsoft’s public-facing online products and services.
Here are some of the most notable changes made to the Microsoft Services Agreement:
• Coverage for additional services (like GroupMe and Group Messaging) and new features for covered services (like Skype, Bing, and our Rewards Program)
• Clarifications that your work or school account is covered by different terms
• A notice that Xbox now requires you to sign in at least once every 5 years for your gamertag to remain active
• An explanation of data storage limits for OneDrive and factors that may affect synchronization and uploading to OneDrive services
You can read the full Microsoft Services Agreement here. You can also learn more about these updates on our FAQ page here. The updates to the Microsoft Services Agreement will take effect on September 15, 2016. If you continue to use our products and services on or after September 15, 2016, it means you accept the updated Microsoft Services Agreement.
We are also updating Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. These updates are outlined on our FAQ page here and will take effect on August 2, 2016.
If you do not accept these updates, you may choose to stop using the products and services and close your Microsoft account before these terms take effect. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for your child’s use of Microsoft’s services and products, including purchases.
Thank you for using Microsoft products and services.

Good evening,

So, to keep it simple, SCAM.
So you can throw the email in the trash, it didn’t come from Microsoft.

Best regards.

Hello,

Except that this one indeed comes from Microsoft.

I received the same message from msa@communication.microsoft.com.

However, if I understood correctly, there is nothing to be done if we accept this new contract. If we do not agree, we just need to request the closure of our Microsoft account.

So used to seeing this email in scams. I was a bit hasty.
Best regards.

Yes, but is it paid? I don't understand; the contract mentions payment terms? I'm on Vista.

It's for those who pay to have more storage space on their OneDrive, for example.
