Hello,
Freshly installed without issue on Wifi under Windows 10, my HP ENVY 5540 printer works well except for scanning. Messages on the HP screen say "the scanning app installed on the computer is currently in use" while all other apps are closed... "No OCR (???) application is installed on the computer... Can you help me? Thank you.

Good evening,
How did you proceed to install this printer?
Is Windows 10 the 32 or 64-bit version?
Best regards.

Hello glg29, thank you for helping me.
To install this printer, since the provided CD is not working, I used an online installation at https://123.hp.com/us/en/devices/envy5540
As for Windows 10, I installed the version that was "insistently" recommended by Windows in place of Windows 8.1.
Upon checking the settings, I see Windows 10 Home.
Finally, I note in Windows Update:
“• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3163018) - Error 0x8e5e03fa”
I hope this information helps answer your questions and allows you to determine which version of Windows it is.
Thanks again.

Hello,
I suggest you completely redo the installation of this printer from the following link, click HERE.
First, you must absolutely eliminate all traces of previous installations related to this printer's setup on the PC.
Once this is done, restart the computer and then proceed to download the complete suite of drivers/software and install it.
Regarding the 32 or 64 bit version, right-click on the window icon in the taskbar at the bottom left of the screen, select System, and you will find the information on the System type line.
Best regards.
