Hey folks!! So, here’s my problem...
I just built my first PC, nice, I didn’t forget anything. Quick problem: no sound when I turn on the PC, everything works, fans spin, the CPU is seated properly, the GPU too, basically no issues, except there’s a black screen and the monitor doesn’t detect the PC. HELP ME QUICKLY PLEASE! (I have a Corsair CX600M semi-modular PSU, an i5 4590, a GTX960 4GB OC MSI Gaming Edition, two Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 4GB DDR3 sticks, and a Seagate Barracuda 1TB)

Hi, did you try plugging your monitor into your motherboard and removing your graphics card?

The problem doesn't come from the device itself, but from the fact that no screen detects the computer (the USB ports only work with a USB key, keyboards and mice are not recognized).

If you start with the minimum. just the motherboard (proc) without RAM, graphics card, or hard drive, how does that feel to you?

      Hi

Without RAM it won’t do anything at all... You need at least RAM, CPU and the cooling fan ^^

You take a 100% functional PC, you remove the RAM => black screen guaranteed, nothing else.

I have already tried several things, like plugging it HDMI to the GPU, plugging it with the MSI adapter for the GPU (it's a VGA screen), nothing works, black screen, no signal, and only my Windows install key responds. In fact, I don't get the motherboard to boot when I turn it on, but I will try connecting a keyboard in PS/2 and pressing all the F keys xD

        it won't change anything.

If no system is installed it either stays on the boot screen, or it tells you that there is no "boot device" (understand that the hard drive won't boot because there is no system).

In the end, physically unplug the graphics card from the motherboard and connect the video cables to the motherboard to verify that the motherboard is indeed outputting the video signal and that the problem does not come from the graphics card.

Is it possible to install an OS without the motherboard boot? (I think I’ve found the problem... I don’t have a USB 3.0 cable, they’re barely powered, which is why only my USB key works...)

Do you always have a black screen? Or do you see a few things?

"Is it possible to install an OS without the motherboard boot? " <= of course not, that's the central component of the PC; if it doesn't boot you can't do anything at all.

Yes, I manage to follow, but it’s been a month and I’m waiting, so it’s getting on my nerves... But otherwise we tried again, still nothing. (I should note that I’m only 14, you know ._. )

And I don’t have a DVI screen to test.

    Is your screen in VGA?

Do you have an image or not on your screen?

Nope, just the signal step and then the screen goes to sleep.

If you start simply with your CPU and a stick of RAM. You remove your hard drive and your graphics card. You connect everything electrically and plug your monitor into the VGA port on your motherboard. What does it do to you? Otherwise do a clear CMOS. You connect the two pins at the PCI2 level and your fan wiring.

I’m trying nothing more... Nothing works, we’re going to take it to a computer scientist (without paying, I’m specifying, huh ._. )

The fact that there isn’t a beep when you turn it on, is that bad?

sometimes it doesn’t beep. starts without ram. normally it should beep continuously.

We may need to consider returning the PC or certain components under warranty.

And you want to install an OS if it can't boot from a device, how does it do it?

It’s going to be complicated if the motherboard doesn’t allow it because it doesn’t work properly... !
