MSI Z97 PC Mate compatible with which graphics card or 2 graphics cards?

Hello
I have an MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard (MS-7850)
My computer has been experiencing slowdowns for a while now when I play Warzone.
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970
RAM: 16GB
Screen: 60Hz
So my question is whether I should change the graphics card and if so, which one can I choose?
My other question is whether I can install two graphics cards? If so, can I use the same one I already have? Is it useful? Or should I get a different one?
Thank you for your answers.
Ben.

Wow, not bad at all! I didn't think I could level up like this for 500€, otherwise I would have done it already!!
Thank you very much, now all I have to do is order and put it all together!

If you still have a bit of budget left, you could add a 250 or 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD.

Great job on your part. Thank you
I have a somewhat similar problem but with an MSI H97 PC Mate motherboard and:
-- an Intel i5 processor,
---a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 GPU
-- RAM: 16 GB
-- 500 GB SSD
I would like to gradually upgrade my PC while keeping my motherboard, and first know which GPU I can install to increase performance.
Then I can try to find an i7 with socket 1150, and increase the RAM (32 GB?)
Thank you for your opinions, everyone.

Changing the GPU isn't the best time due to the drastic shortage of these components. The slightest GPU will cost you a fortune. As for having 32GB of RAM, it won't bring anything. Unless you're doing image processing, for example.

In principle, you can use any current GPU: nVIDIA GTX16xx, even RTX 2060 or 3060 or AMD RX6600XT; 6700XT. The problem is that there is currently a drastic shortage of GPUs. If you find one, it might cost a lot.

Alright, thank you for this response. Is it useful given my configuration? Will it bring me anything or not?

In terms of gaming performance, a newer GPU can have a noticeable impact, even with an aging CPU like yours. It's up to you, as the PC user, to decide, given your finances, whether or not you can upgrade.

PS: It's possible to use 2 GPUs in the same PC, but it doesn't have much value.

Sure, thank you.
Which graphics card do you recommend? I have a budget of around €500, but I'm not looking for the most powerful one if the rest of my computer will bottleneck it.
Thanks for the advice.

And if I tell you that with a budget of less than €1000, it's possible to get a really effective graphics card compared to my setup?

Hello
The 2060 GTX Evo for €550 and a 750W power supply if you don't already have one.

A GTX 2060 if you find one and a 750W power supply if you don't already have one.

!! Error in my previous response because the RTX 2060 is limited to a power consumption of 65W.

Hi
Honestly, it's not the right time to spend money on a graphics card; your GTX 970 is still not too bad, and getting a newer card will be bottlenecked by your processor.
It's better to save your budget for a significant upgrade later, because for €500 you can already get a much more powerful motherboard/CPU/RAM combo than what you have while keeping the 970.
Personally, I would upgrade that first, as prices haven't skyrocketed in that area, and for the graphics card, it is urgent to wait.

Thank you for the advice. The bottleneck of the new graphics card was indeed my concern.
May I abuse and ask for your advice on choosing the motherboard/CPU/RAM?
Thank you

What maximum budget do you want to allocate for an upgrade of the CM, CPU, and RAM?

I think I will set between 500 and 750, I would say, knowing that I'm not really concerned about being 50€ off... even more if it really makes a difference, but I want to avoid going over 1000€.

I need to buy a bigger SSD; mine is just a small 125GB one... Thanks for your advice.
