Hello,

I assembled my new PC with the following configuration:

MSI Pro B660M-A motherboard

Intel Core i5 12400

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Gb

MSI MAG 650BN power supply

At startup, I reach the BIOS, I modified the boot order to the USB UEFI drive. Upon rebooting and pressing F11, I don't have any option for booting and it returns me to the BIOS settings. I disabled fast boot and secure boot but nothing works, it won't boot from the W11 installation USB. I tried all the USB ports on the motherboard and those on the case...

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you for your help!

It is instructive for others who might have a similar problem.

Hello,

How did you prepare your Win11 USB key?

Because indeed it's F11 for the Boot Menu

(Normally, you shouldn't change anything in the Boot tab in the BIOS)

If you don't have the ISO (the latest), use the link to download the ISO to create a USB key (at least 8GB) to update, repair, or reinstall Windows

https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows11

When you have the Windows ISO file, you can create your USB key with Rufus

https://rufus.ie/en/

In GPT mode for EFI

Try F11 again, the PC Boot Menu key

This is an official W11 USB key purchased directly from Microsoft.

My problem is that it does not boot from the USB key, and when I press F11, I get this

So I am going in circles despite the settings made in the BIOS

Try creating your own USB drive (minimum 8GB) from the Microsoft ISO.

But shouldn't I have the choice of booting after pressing F11 regardless of the USB key?

Is it due to the version of W11 that I got?

I don't know.

No, not due to the version.

You have a Retail motherboard, you can install whatever system you want.

You can update your BIOS, it might help with compatibility with Windows 11.

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-DDR4/support

But definitely not if there's a risk of power failure.

Hello

Everything is fine in the BIOS settings, your USB stick is simply not bootable, you need to create it from the Microsoft site linked by Fabul, no need for Rufus, the Microsoft installer creates the bootable USB stick, you just need to select that option.

It's a key purchased directly from Microsoft, it should be bootable... I'll try it on another computer as soon as possible

Hello,

consider testing other USB ports on the motherboard as well, if you were trying from the front ports of the case, sometimes it doesn't work. Otherwise, I agree with the others, use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to make another installation USB, it's almost fully automated and easy to use.

I have already tried all the other available USB ports. So I will make an installation key myself, indeed.

It's true that if it's an official key bought from Microsoft, the PC should boot from it. Unless you ended up with a defective unit. Why did you go into the BIOS the first time to make adjustments? The PC didn't naturally boot from the key the first time?

No, nothing happened on the first startup with the key....

I just put the key on another computer and everything is there

So, I'm going to try to update the BIOS of the motherboard

There you go, by updating the BIOS, I was finally able to install W11.

Thanks to everyone for your advice!
