Hello everyone,
During the New Year, someone placed a candle behind my laptop (ASUS: if that changes anything) and it burned behind my computer (a bit melted, a small dent) but also on my screen! There's a gray spot and inside it a little white (before there were white lines around but that has disappeared), and I wanted to know if there was a solution to fix this? (other than taking it for repair right away), because I've only had it for 6 months, and as a student, I really need it every day. I think the pixels are not affected because when I take a screenshot of the burned area, nothing shows up (well, I think that means it).
Thank you for your help...
Best regards

Hello
Flat screens have a temperature limit beyond which the pixels become "dead"
The only repair would be to replace the screen, but it might cost more than a new machine given the labor costs and sometimes the price demanded by the manufacturer for the spare part!!
If you have good insurance, it's probably the time to take advantage of it!!

Hello,
A screenshot is actually a recording of the video card's memory; it works even if the screen is dead, off, or unplugged.
As long as the gray and white task doesn't hinder your work, feel free to stay like that, but the only long-term solution will be to replace the screen panel (at minimum the reflective back part, but I'm not sure if that's possible).

I don't know any more than you do, but I'm looking into it.

Hello,
I don't think there's any other solution than replacing the screen. A flat screen is a thin and fragile peripheral.
The screenshot means nothing; the PC captures what it emits, not what is displayed. Even without a screen, you can take a "screenshot."
