Small issues Luxman A007 Amplifier

Hello,

I come to you to explain two small issues I've encountered with my Luxman A007 recently.
To go into detail, I got this amp about 2 years ago; it had been in the basement and has remained almost new for 30 years!
I connected it to 2 Elipson Planet M speakers (60w) for this 60w amp at 8 ohms, along with an amplified Yamaha subwoofer connected to the pre-amp output.

So my first little problem is that the sound cuts out briefly when the amp is overworked. Yesterday, I cranked it up with some friends, and after a while, it must have overheated and the highs disappeared! (since the subwoofer is amplified, it kept working, receiving the signal from the preamp), and as soon as we lowered the volume, it worked again.
I then used it at low volume and turned it off for the night.
Tonight, while watching a movie, the voices were low, so I turned up the volume quite a bit, and when a scene with a much higher sound level came on, I had the same symptoms, except it wasn't particularly warm...

I opened it up to see if any components had overheated, and I didn't see anything. I took the opportunity to try to fix the remote control receiver, which has never worked.

Hence the second problem! While fiddling with the electronic board on the front, blowing on it and disconnecting a small controller board with two little amplifiers (chips) that made the connection between the front board and a board of the amp, I noticed that the remote control worked again, but it only lasted an afternoon, and since then, no remote control, even though the latter emits a signal (checked with a camera).

So nothing serious, but I'm worried about the future, hoping that my amp isn't damaged; I'm calling on your expertise to shed light on this!

Have a good day everyone

    Hi.
Hmm... this story doesn't smell good...
Hi-fi amplifiers don't like to be pushed hard for long, especially if they are old.
It's surprising that it cuts off at high volume. We would need more info on this amp; it might be quite complex with various levels of amplification, and one level might be fried.
As for the remote, maybe it's oxidation. A bit of contact cleaner spray could help.

Thank you for your response, so today I did some cold tests and it turns out that if I turn the volume up too high, it cuts out at a certain sound level, and as soon as I lower the volume, it starts working again immediately. The cutoff sound level is still quite high.

I took it apart again, I took some pictures, as you can see it's super clean for its age (it has been under cellophane for almost its whole life).
I checked the fuses which are good, no capacitors seem swollen, nothing looks damaged... So I'm really puzzled by this situation.
I tested it by disconnecting the subwoofer, so the problem is only with the highs.
Could my speakers have taken a hit? Seeing as they are 60W just like the amp... I thought it might be an impedance issue at high volume, if the impedance becomes too low it could explain the cutout?
In any case, I don’t perceive any remarkable change in quality except for the highs which are a bit more present.

As for the remote control, I tinkered with it again and it works, none of the solder joints seem to be in bad condition, I have the impression there is a link with the little controller that I took a photo of, very strange!

Here’s a top view of the amp

And the little controller that seems to be related to the remote control issue

Thank you and have a good evening.
