Ultrasound sound when I plug in the box

Hello!

We are currently doing some small work in the room where the box and the computer are located.
I had to unplug the computer equipment (printer, etc.), and when I went to plug my box back in, I noticed that the power outlet was emitting a sort of ultrasonic sound. A faint but annoying noise!
My parents can't hear this sound, but I can, and it's very irritating ^^

I would like to know how to fix this problem and, at the same time, why it is happening!

Thank you in advance!

Hello

If it's the wall socket that's making this sound (which by the way is not an ultrasound, inaudible by definition...) it is possible that one of the wires is loosely connected....

This noise could be a "crackling" sound... /!\ fire hazard...

/!\ after turning off the power remove the socket and check if each wire is properly screwed or connected (depending on the type of socket....)

If the noise is coming from another point... please specify....

No no, it's not the wall socket!
It's coming from the socket that powers the Freebox! The one with the green LED!
It really is because when I unplug this socket, the noise stops!

It's simply the socket that we connect to a traditional power outlet!
And not the wall one! (By the way, what do you mean by wall? The socket with an inverted "T"??)

By "wall-mounted" I simply mean the "socket" that is in the wall (the partition)...

Well, it seems like you’re talking about the power supply of the box... if it doesn’t heat up (or very little) it’s not dangerous... at most a bit annoying...

In this last case, try asking Free for an exchange...

See you later!

That's exactly what I was talking about!
The socket doesn't heat up too much!
I'm going to try calling Free!

Thank you very much!

Re,
If it's the power supply, it’s probably what I was saying, there’s a good chance it's giving up the ghost, so yes, call Free.
