Hello everyone,
I'm seeking your advice regarding my power strip, to which I have connected computer equipment as well as a hi-fi system.
It has 8 sockets and is supposed to protect against surges in case of thunderstorms, etc.
This morning when I tried to turn it on, I heard a buzzing sound coming from the unit and the indicator light wouldn't turn on.
I tried again, and the light flickered. The indicator light on my hi-fi system also started flickering on and off.
I decided to cut everything off and use another power strip.
My question is simple: how can I determine what caused this bug (which has never happened before) and whether my power strip is still functional or not?
I don’t want to reuse it if it’s going to risk damaging all my devices… But when I plugged it back in elsewhere during the day, it seemed to work properly.
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Hello, uh!!! Given the price of a power strip, your question is strange! :-))

Yes, probably a bit, in the sense of not wasting, I prefer not to throw away without being sure that it’s really useless ;-)
