How to log in to another user account

Hello,

I just installed Windows 10 on my computer and my partner is using it as well.

I created his own user account without doing it through a Microsoft account which he doesn't have and doesn't want to create (because he only needs one email address).

I'm trying to log into his account without a password.

Little problem: when I click on "Sign in", it starts loading and says "Welcome" before telling me "Logging out". And then, I return to the home screen...

So I couldn't access his account.

What should I do?

    Creating a Microsoft account does not require creating a new email address. You just need an email address (Gmail, Orange, etc.) to create an account.

    This issue is strange; normally, there shouldn't be any problem connecting to other user accounts.

    If you haven't already, please restart.
    If that doesn't work, we'll check if it's just this session that's having a problem, or if it's more general.

    We'll verify if it's possible to log into the Administrator session (this is a special session that runs everything in administrator mode, a sort of "god-mode").
    Right-click on the Start menu, select Command Prompt (admin), then type: net user Administrator /active:yes

    Log out, and you should see the Administrator session in the list of sessions: open it.

    If that doesn't work, then there is a major issue that I won't be able to resolve. :/

    If it works, great, but let's not linger on this session; log out.

    Return to your account (even if it didn't work), and right-click on the Start menu, select Command Prompt (admin), then type: net user Administrator /active:no. The Administrator session has been deactivated.

    If you were able to access the Administrator session, try deleting your partner's account and recreating it. If that doesn't work, try using a Microsoft account instead of a local account.

      Thank you for your reply.

      To create a new account on my computer, Microsoft indeed requires a Microsoft email address (Xbox Live, Outlook, Windows, or OneDrive).
      I tried to enter my partner's initial address, but the software refuses to validate it. :/

      Otherwise, by following your instructions and activating the Admin account, I was able to log in successfully.

      However, even by creating a local account, I still can’t access it >_<

        It is clearly stated at the beginning:

        You can use any email address as the username for your new Microsoft account [...]

        Actually, there was a little confusion.

        To create his user account, I was in Settings>Accounts>Family & other users>Add someone else to this PC
        That's where we didn't understand each other lol

        In the meantime, I created a Microsoft account for him and logged in with his new account. And I didn't even succeed!! It's really strange!

        I should have stayed on Windows 8 after all ^^'
