Photoshop CS6: The pen tool path is not appearing

Hello,

I am using Photoshop CS6, and the paths created with the pen tool do not appear when I save as JPEG. I then reopen the PSD file and all the paths have disappeared.

If anyone could help me.

    I finally managed to make the lines appear in the jpegs but by using "Shape".

    Maybe you need to give it a color and a thickness...

    Select your trace, then right-click "stroke of the trace/pencil"
    It's the parameters of the pencil tool that will apply, so set them beforehand.

      By the way, do you always need to create a new layer for a path? Because when I use the pen tool, no layer appears, and even if I create a new layer, the path doesn't go into the new layer.

      When you create a path, it appears in the path palette... it is not a layer,

      But you can create a path on a layer; when you convert it to a path, it will be on the previously selected layer.
      It can obviously be a new layer.

      I tried with the tool trait and shape, and every time I open it in jpeg, the lines do not appear. In psd, when I open the file, I have to click the eye in the layers again for the lines to reappear...

    a path cannot be saved, it can only be converted to a shape or possibly exported as a path to another application

    it is not necessary to create a layer to make a path, the layer will be created automatically when converting to a shape, whether by fill background or stroke fill, or both

    that said: you may need to create several paths in the same file
    in this case, you should create a new layer for each new path in the path panel, and remember to name them
    you can add as many as needed, all paths will be separate, you just need to click on their layer in the path panel to make them appear and convert them

    I would like to add for the information:
    paths are not "strokes"
    they have that appearance because we cannot work on the invisible
    but it's only an appearance, as long as they are not converted they have no substance and cannot be treated like pencil or brush strokes
