Hello, a few days ago I bought a cash register from the brand: Electro Calcul Alpha 16/PC. I tried to do my first transaction, the ticket came out and then nothing happened, the buttons stopped making any sound and the entire register is frozen. The screen shows €14 as the amount to pay and a small "u". The whole register is blocked and I can't do anything. It would be really nice if someone could help me; I have very limited means and I cannot afford to buy another register. THANK YOU

    Hello,

You just bought it... Is it not under warranty?

In any case, your question is off-topic; a cash register is not really an office item :-/

I bought them from a private seller on a well-known website.

You have hardly any recourse :-/

Except to ask him to help you fix it or try to persuade him to refund you.

This has already been done except that, of course, I have never received a response... What I'm looking for is someone on this site who knows a bit about the machine and could tell me how to unlock it... But thanks for the information...

Beware Chris, the cash registers work for the most recent ones and more and more with an OS that's truly local :)

      Hi,

Hmm, I'm afraid that even fridges and others also use an OS, whether it's from us or specific. However, this OS is generally inaccessible...

As I reply to you, it occurs to me that a few devices of that kind have a "reset" button or a key combination to restart the mechanism. If that's the case here, unfortunately, I don't know the trick :-/

If my fridge has an OS, I understand why it freezes so often!

We're drifting a bit... For the year 2000, working in a lab, I was in charge of checking whether the famous bug could affect certain devices: fridges, centrifuges, etc. were potentially at risk. Thermostats or speed controllers were "smart" :-/

No, but actually I tried to make a cheesy pun between "freeze" and "fridge".

        Anyway, everything is connected now.
