Hello, I would like to, if necessary, transfer image files or data from my PC to another identical backup PC. Can you help me? Thank you and best regards.

    Hello,

    Several solutions:

    Via a USB flash drive
    via an external hard drive
via the network between the two PCs

    Then it's just copy-paste...

Thank you for your response, but I would like to know how to connect the two PCs... please be more generous considering that I am not as tech-savvy as you are, thank you!

Do you have an internet box?

I imagine that by internet box you mean the modem that allows me to have internet?

Yes, on the back, there is this kind of connection, like in yellow in the image, marked eth or ethernet or RJ45:

You should have two cables like this (the color doesn't matter):
      https://img.phonandroid.com/2014/10/prise-ethernet-mural.jpg

      1) Connect the two PCs with these cables to the box, then right-click on your drive that contains the data to be transferred and choose "share with" "advanced sharing"
      2) In the opened window, click on "advanced sharing"
      a window opens
      3) check the box "share this folder"
      then click on "permissions"
      4) choose in the box "group or user names" the group named "everyone"
      check all the permission boxes.

4 bis) If "everyone" is not there, then you need to create it by clicking on "add"
in the box "enter the names of the objects to select" type "everyone" then click on "check names" and then "ok"
      return to step 4)

Do the same on the PC that will receive the data.

Then, in Windows Explorer, when you click on "network" you will see the adjacent PC appear, and you will have access to its hard drive. You can then copy and paste your information from one PC to the other.

But the easiest way is still to use a USB key ^^

      Good evening,

Put your 2 PCs in the same workgroup and enable file sharing for the folders you want to transfer.
Then it's just copy and paste.

So you might as well use a USB key, it's not too technical, a bit slow but reliable!!!

Make sure to copy/paste and not cut/paste!!!!
