Files recovered with Recuva, cannot be read

Hello,
I just recovered some files with RECUVA, but I'm having trouble reading them.
Also, I found the time it took to be really long, an entire night for the files and 36 hours for the photos. Is that normal?
They are Excel, Word, and PDF files. What should I do?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
During the analysis with Recuva, the software indicates the potential recovery status using color codes (excellent, poor, very poor, unrecoverable). What was that status?
Furthermore, did you restore the files on the same partition or on another one?

What do you mean by partition? I'm more than a beginner. Lol

When you open Windows Explorer, in the "hard drives" section, do you have a C drive and a D drive? Or just a C drive?

Yes, just a C.

When restoring files, it is always necessary to do so on a different partition. Since you only have one, you can restore, for example, to an external hard drive.
If you want, when you delete files on one partition, there are still "traces" left that allow software like Recuva to recover them. However, when you create or copy new files on that partition, they occupy the free space and thus "overwrite" the traces of your old files. By restoring files on the same partition, you are effectively writing over those traces, the very traces that could have allowed for the recovery of the files.
This probably explains why your recovered files are not readable.

What should I do?
Also, since yesterday, I've been trying to recover the photos, it's 7 PM, it canceled itself. Do I have a chance to recover my photos? Please help me. On Tuesday, I'm going to buy an external hard drive.
