Lost.dir files cannot be read

Hello,

I wanted to transfer my photos from my Xperia XA2 smartphone to my 64 GB SD Card. The goal was to free up 3 GB of space. The transfer was successful. However, a system error occurred just before. My Android restarted several times because the memory was full (crashed...)

A Lost.dir folder was created on my SD Card. I used Recuva to recover my photos. About 750 files were detected but they have no extension so they cannot be opened. Yet, my files are displayed as "Not deleted" and with a green dot, so they are recoverable. I renamed them to png or jpg format, but it yielded no results. Using Notepad shows "yyyyyyyyyyyy."

Do you have a solution? Maybe formatting?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Instead of a long speech, here is a link to help you:

The condition for it to work is that you have not saved or modified anything:

So: https://www.easeus.fr/recuperer-fichiers-supprimes/recuperer-gratuitement-le-dossier-lost-dir-sur-la-carte-sd-externe.html

And if you can't do anything, the permanent loss of the photos should be seriously considered.

In clearer terms, formatting the SD.....

Hoping you can recover as many photos as possible,

Best regards.
