WHATSAPP WON'T OPEN ANYMORE

I don't know what's happening, but WhatsApp won't open on my phone anymore. It appears dark like this, and it doesn't work when I press on it to open it. Nothing opens. Even when I look for it in the list of applications, it doesn't open.
So I have a question: what should I do? Why am I having this problem?
If I uninstall it and reinstall it, will all my old chats be lost?

Thank you for your reply! The problem is finally resolved. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and it works! There was an update, and I think that's why it wasn't working just before. And since I hadn't been informed, I thought there was an issue!

Hello. I have the same problem. Hello, I need help please. For the past three days, I haven't been able to access my WhatsApp. It started by lagging and then asked me to update it. But after I did, when I tap the WhatsApp icon to open it, it seems to open but quickly returns to the page with all the apps.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp, and it’s still the same, reset the phone, downloaded WhatsApp again, did the updates for the phone, but it still reacts the same way.
Please help me, I’m cut off from all my contacts and my head is about to explode. Please help me, friends.

Go to the settings menu, then phone update, and update the phone via a Wi-Fi network, then try again. That's what I did, and it works now.
