Question

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out because my work computer is displaying the following message this morning: google chrome. Your connection is not private.
So, I'm running malwarebytes and also adwcleaner just in case, but could it be coming from something else? The https bar is crossed out? I've never experienced this before, can someone enlighten me?

Hello everyone,
When you see the HTTPS crossed out, click on it and check who issued the certificate.

First, make sure that the date and time on your computer (or mobile) is up to date.

In my case, it was Avast! so I disabled the Avast! agents for 10 minutes to test it and there was magic, no more problems. So you need to disable Avast!, update the time and date.

Then you restart your PC while reactivating Avast! and it's all good ;-)

If it still doesn't work, go to the Avast! settings
Settings>Active Protection>Web Shield>Customize>Main Settings

and uncheck the box "ALLOW HTTPS SCANNING"

The site you are on is not secure unless it's Google, and here it seems to be a copy of Google. But maybe your connection is not secure.

I found THE solution because none of the methods proposed above worked on a clean installation of Windows XP with all updates installed. My problem was that I had a crossed-out https and a padlock on Chrome while everything worked perfectly on Firefox for certificates.
Actually, in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, click on "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left. A window opens, and there you need to check:
- Networking Services (by clicking on it, below in the description we see that it manages protocols)
- Update root certificates (VERY IMPORTANT) (for me it was unchecked hence the problem with Chrome)
- Management and analysis tools (for network improvement)

I have the same problem but on my smartphone:
All Google services are blocked (Google Chrome, Play Store, YouTube,....)
When I try to do a Google search, I get this message: "Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.google.fr [...]"
With the red padlock with a white cross and the red and crossed-out https.
I have deleted and reset local data, cookies, and web permissions but nothing works :/

My phone runs on Android and I had the same notification. I don't have an antivirus on my phone. The problem was resolved after clearing the cache, deleting all data, and disabling all updates (UPD).
