My television: Samsung LED TV (UE40C6000) about 4 years old:
My problem: channels scrolling non-stop as if I were continuously pressing the program - button, or sometimes the volume increases to the maximum, as if I were continuously pressing the volume + button. The red indicator light for the infrared signal reception blinks continuously while the channels change by themselves or the volume increases.
I removed the batteries from the remote control => no change. So it’s not the remote control.
It is therefore very likely the component that contains the infrared sensor and the touch buttons. For my television, it is BN41-01390A.
To access the component:
1. remove the 5 screws from the base
2. remove the screen from its base and lay it face down on a bed (back side facing up)
3. remove all the screws from the back to take it off
4. take photos or even a video of everything to avoid mistakes when reassembling
5. Disconnect the ribbon cable connected to the lower board to be able to remove the metal cover covering it.
5. Disconnect all cables, unscrew everything, and remove the various boards (some are fixed with adhesive strips; just turn a bit to detach).
6. There is a transparent plastic frame on the front of the panel, and the component to be changed is on top of it. Therefore, you need to remove this frame. It is clipped onto the panel by 9 black metal clips (3 at the top, 3 on the left, and 3 on the right). To unclip them, take a large flat screwdriver, pass it between the metal clip and the edge of the base and slide the clip away while turning the screwdriver, all the while pushing the frame. As soon as the small tab of the clip is no longer in the notch, you’re good to go, and just repeat the operation for the others.
7. The component is hidden by a plastic strip double-fixed to the frame with metal clips plus very sticky strips. To detach the clips, lift the 2 triangular tabs with a small screwdriver and then pull the clip upwards with your fingers. As for the adhesive strips, use a large screwdriver to gradually detach the strip without forcing too much.
8. The component is strongly glued to the frame; it’s best to use a sturdy kitchen knife (like the one for spreading butter, for example).
9. The component is glued with adhesive tape that deteriorates over time, and this deterioration causes the touch buttons to activate unintentionally.
So I simply threw away the adhesive tape and cleaned the component itself and the plastic it was glued to, not with solvent that would damage the plastic, but with wipes to remove adhesive from band-aids available at the pharmacy.
You can also test it by turning on the TV with the sensor held in the air by its wire to avoid approaching the buttons and you’ll see if it works :)
10. Put new adhesive tape on the component, being careful to place it in its small spot, and reassemble everything.
Total cost of the operation: 1 adhesive tape + a wipe to remove adhesive from band-aids and quite a bit of time (for me) to find the problem lol

I have the same problem; at first, the failure was intermittent and then became permanent. I followed your tutorial, which is very good, but it's still the same. I found a BN41-01390a board, I installed it, it works, but from time to time the issue reoccurs with the sound decreasing.
I re-glued the board with the remaining original adhesive, and if I refer to your case, I might have an adhesive issue. My question is simple: what type of adhesive did you use? Is it a specific product?

Hello specialists, congratulations and a big thank you for the help you provide to the "Nobodies" that we are.
I also had a list of channels running non-stop. After ruling out the remote control, I followed your advice and disconnected the keyboard. Great, the problem is solved, well almost............
A forum expert suggests reattaching the sensor, but that requires disassembly, so before that I tried keyboard troubleshooting, but since then I can't seem to save the changes made to the contrast or brightness. The same issue occurs when trying to permanently delete the melody on startup or shutdown. Is there a cause and effect since I disconnected the keyboard?
If I need to replace the keyboard or the board it is connected to, where can I find spare parts (online)?
Or should I just go reattach the sensor??????
